Farewell to Trevor

The Revd Dr Trevor Jamison A packed service was held on Sunday 23 November, when St Columba’s usual congregation was joined by many friends from around the Synod and beyond, to bid farewell to the Revd Dr Trevor Jamison, who has been our minister since June, 2018.  Under his leadership, we found new ways of being church during the Covid lockdowns, with online services and meetings and an emailed weekly update.  His online Bible discussion groups attracted people from all over the north east.  In the wider Church, Trevor served as Green Apostle and then Clerk of the Northern Synod, and both the current and immediately previous Moderators of the Synod took part in the service.

In his sermon, Trevor urged the congregation to appreciate and share the full story of God’s relationship with Creation, of course including Jesus’ birth at Christmas.

After the service and the presentation of some farewell gifts, a buffet lunch was shared in the upper and lower church halls.

We wish Trevor and his household well in retirement.
