St Columba’s United Reformed Church, North Shields
19 March 2020: Church building closed due to Coronavirus
With real sadness, it has been decided to close the church premises in response to the UK Government’s strong advice concerning Coronavirus.
All midweek church activities and groups that hire our premises are being notified about this. Our own groups and activities are suspended until further notice.
We will not be meeting at church on Sunday for worship. We intend to provide resources so that people can participate in worship in their homes, and to resource them spiritually on an ongoing basis.
We will keep in touch with each other. Elders will have a list of members and friends to contact each week, both to provide information and to ensure that people are safe and well.
If you have urgent concerns please contact your designated Elder, the Minister, or the Church Secretary.
Minister: Reverend Trevor Jamison

We urge you to make decisions that best protect your health and wellbeing, as well as the health and wellbeing of those who might be affected by your choices.
Be assured, we will continue as Church, but doing so in different ways in a challenging situation. As Saint Paul put it …
‘No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor rulers, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers, nor height, nor depth, nor anything else that is in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.’ Romans 8:37-39
