Our Christmas Eve service of carols and lessons by candlelight was well-attended, with many family members and others visiting. The flickering glow of nearly a hundred candles lent a special atmosphere to the evening worship, along with well-known Christmas readings and carols. Our Minister invited us to reflect on the roles of angels and shepherds in the Nativity story – connecting heaven and earth in praising God and telling the good news. A choir sang two carols, and a collection was taken for local domestic abuse charity Harbour Support Services. Mince pies and mulled wine were enjoyed over cheerful conversations in the warm hall afterwards.
