Eco Matters: The Big Plastic Count

This is the thirteenth in a series of articles from the Eco Church Team at St Columba’s, which are also published in our church magazine.

Are you a little bit embarrassed about how much plastic you use?  You will be amazed at the amount of plastic which is disposed of by households in a week.  I would urge everyone to think about joining up for the Big Plastic Count which will take place nationally from 9th to 18th March.  This is investigating to stop the plastic crisis.  Thousands of people all over the country have already joined and will be counting every piece of plastic packaging they throw away.  Together we will uncover the true scale of the U.K’s plastic problem and call on the government to do more about it.

We are not just counting plastic, we are building a movement for a fair future that’s free from the impacts of the plastic crisis.  Join in this survey and sign up before the 9th March at thebigplasticcount.com.

More information on this subject can be found on line — I’m already signed up!  Happy counting!
