Our Nativity play on 20 December was unusual for three reasons.
Firstly, it began with a baptism. It was great to see little George and all of his family and friends come together to celebrate, and to pray for his growing up in the faith.
Secondly, as each character of the play came on stage, they brought with them wooden spoon models of their characters (made at Messy Church at the beginning of Advent), and added them to a straw-lined box at the front of the platform.
Thirdly, three of the young actors in the play sang a beautiful song about the birth of Jesus, without prompting or accompaniment. Very well done!
